the hostess experience
What’s in it for me? Does I get anything special for hosting the party?
Of course! Just for hosting a party, you will receive free registration for the workshop. Not only that, but you get free hands-on organizing services! Who wouldn’t want someone to come into their home or office to organize their stuff!?!
Consider this… To hire a professional organizer to help you for an hour, you’d be paying anywhere upwards of $100. By hosting an organizing party, you get the very same high-quality, individually-tailored hands-on organizing services for free!
Bonus: With 10 to 14 paid guests, you will also receive free organizing supplies based on the specific workshop you are hosting (valued at $25!). With at least 15 guests you will receive everything above PLUS 30% off an individually-tailored hands-on organizing session.
What exactly do I have to do before my party?
Write out a guest list, then send out your [ real neat ] invitations via e-mail and/or postal mail.
Note: Included in your [ real neat ] invitation will be a direct link for your guests to register and prepay online. You won’t need to worry about collecting any money from your guests (or covering their payments).
Who should I invite? Is there a minimum number of guests required?
You should invite your friends, family members, co-workers, neighbors, and church members. Organizing Workshops are fun for anyone who wants to regain control of their time and space so they can refocus on their priorities.
Tip: You’ll want to invite twice as many guests as you would like to allow for cancellations.
Note: You must have a minimum of 5 paid guests in order to host an organizing party.
I hosted a [ real neat ] organization seminar in my home, and I appreciated how Michelle wasn’t selling an organizing system that I would use for a week before returning to my messy ways. She gave everyone at the seminar great advice about how to use materials that we have on hand to develop an organization strategy that works for us as individuals.
For my “hostess gift” Michelle re-organized my supply closet, and almost a year later I am still maintaining it! I love being able to find exactly what I’m looking for without hassle!

How much does it cost? Am I responsible for collecting all the money and paying you?
When your guests register online, they receive an instant $5 discount and pay only $10 each to attend the workshop. The [ real neat ] invitation will include a direct link for your guests to register and prepay online. You won’t need to worry about collecting any money from your guests (or covering their payments).
Do I have to keep track of who’s coming and who’s not?
No. The online registration system will track all that information for you, and you can elect to receive either instant or weekly e-mail updates.
Tip: The day before your party, it’s a good idea to call each guest to say you look forward to seeing them. And, encourage guests to be on time so they don’t miss a minute of the fun.
Is there any setup that I need to do beforehand?
Yes. You’ll need to have an area set up where you and your guests can be seated comfortably for the presentation portion of the workshop (i.e., living room furniture, dining room table, outdoor lawn chairs).
Note: You may also want to have a few things on hand including some quart- and gallon-size ziptop baggies, a few baskets or boxes, a roll of paper towels, and an all-purpose cleaner. I will supply the handouts, worksheets, paper, and pens that guests may use to take notes.
Do I need to serve snacks? What about drinks?
No, it’s not necessary, but if you wish to do so, please have your snacks and beverages available as guests arrive or serve them after the workshop. At a minimum, please have some cold water readily accessible for those who may need it.
the guest experience
What about my guests? What do they get? Why would they pay to attend a party?
Your guests will get to learn some invaluable information about how to get (and stay) organized. Plus, throughout the workshop, your guests will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions about their own trouble spots at home or work, and they’ll receive personalized advice from the expert herself! Finally, your guests will benefit from watching us complete a small hands-on organizing project together.
Consider this… When you host a traditional home party, your guests generally purchase a combined total of more than $300 worth of products! The $10 or $15 fee that guests pay to attend your organizing party is an absolute steal!
Bonus: Everyone who books a future organizing party or customized organizing services the night of your party will receive a free Family Resource Binder ($15 value).
What if someone decides to attend at the last minute?
That’s great! Anyone is welcome to attend. Guests that have not registered or prepaid can definitely still join the party. Any last minute guest can simply pay the $15 fee on the night of the workshop.
Michelle is obviously an experienced facilitator. I have a Master’s Degree in Rhetoric and taught at the University level for a few years—I really thought she gracefully led the seminar rather than just conducted it.

Do you sell products? I don’t want my guests to feel pressured to buy anything…
No. I do not currently sell any products. In fact, I have found that most of my clients already have the containers that they need… they simply haven’t used them efficiently. So, when I work with clients, I try to reuse and repurpose items they already own before the client purchases anything new.
On occasion, an organizing project requires more specialized tools than what is readily available in the client’s space. I do have some favorite places to shop for great organizing products, and many of them give me a professional discount that I simply pass on to my clients… no markup.
How long does a workshop last?
The average organizing party lasts 2 to 3 hours. Guests will often want to chat (and snack?) before the workshop begins. Next, the presentation portion of the workshops lasts anywhere between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
Finally, the amount of time that we spend working together on your real-life hands-on organizing project will vary based on how quickly you make decisions, how many questions your guests have, and how long your guests spend chatting or snacking before, during, and after the presentation portion of the workshop.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I learned and how my perceptions were enlightened during this unique seminar.
